The Mayflower Boat Facts and Information

This is a list of the passengers on board the Mayflower and resources about its trans-Atlantic voyage of September 6 – November 9, 1620, the majority of them becoming the settlers of Plymouth Colony in what is now Massachusetts. These settlers were the first beginners and the foundation of all the Plantations and Colonies in New England. How many people came over on the Mayflower? The Mayflower launched with 102 passengers, as well as at least two dogs. The “Mayflower” passenger list contained the names of 50 men, 20 women, and 32 children. Who was the captain of the mayflower? The “Mayflower” sailed alone on September 6, headed for Virginia and was under the command of Captain Christopher Jones. How big was the Mayflower? The ship was a three-masted vessel weighing 180 tons. Her length was 90 feet, and her beam (width) was 26 feet. Previously she had been used to carry wine, a “stout ship” accustomed to heavy loads and heavy seas and well equipped to make this long voyage.
