New York Ski Guide: Lodging, Mountains, and Resources

  • Buffer

New York has some of the eastern United States’ most scenic mountain ranges, including the Catskill and Appalachian ranges. Within the peaks that form these areas are all levels of ski and snowboard resorts. Smaller than their western Rocky Mountain neighbors, most of the mountains in New York do not exceed 4000 feet at their summit, but they do offer some significant vertical drops in excess of 3000 feet and meticulously groomed trails for thrill seekers and casual riders alike. The resorts below are a mix of large and small, advanced and family friendly mountains spread throughout New York, in both its northeast and central west regions.
