1. Alan Page – Defensive Tackle
Alan Page was drafted after he graduated by the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the team from 1967 until 1978 when he became a Chicago Bear. Page was named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year and the NFL Most Valuable Player. This was highly unusual for a defensive player, but he was constantly being recognized for his abilities on defense. Alan Page was a nine-time Pro Bowler, a six-time First-Team All-Pro selection, a three-time Second-Team All-Pro selection and an eleven-time First-Team All-Conference selection. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 1970, 1971 and 1973 by the NFC, NFL and NEA. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Minnesota Vikings retired his number.

2. Fran Tarkenton – Quarterback
Fran Tarkenton was drafted in the third round of the 1961 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. His professional career found him loyal to his original team, playing for them from 1961 through 1966, and again from 1972 until 1978. He still holds the Vikings’ Career Passing Yard and Passing Touchdown records with 33,098 yards and 239 touchdowns. Tarkenton was selected nine times for the Pro Bowl. He was a two-time All-Pro selection and a one-time Second-Team All-Pro selection. He was named NFL MVP, NFL Offensive Player of the Year and NFC Player of the Year in 1975. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986 and his number, 10, was retired by the Minnesota Vikings.

3. Cris Carter – Wide Receiver
Cris Carter began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1987. He remained with the team through 1989, and began to play for the Minnesota Vikings in 1990. He spent the majority of his career in Minnesota. He was a breakout wide receiver, becoming the team’s best within his first season. Carter was an eight-time Pro Bowler, a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection and a one-time Second-Team All-Pro selection. He was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and his number, 80, was retired by the Vikings.

4. Randall McDaniel – Offensive Guard
Randall McDaniel was drafted in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He played for Minnesota until 1999, solidifying his place in history as one of the best offensive guards in the sport. McDaniel was a twelve-time Pro bowler, selected consecutively from 1989 until 2000. He was a nine-time First-Team All-Pro selection and a ten-time First-Team All-NFC selection.

5. Randy Moss – Wide Receiver
Randy Moss was drafted in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He was immediately a breakout receiver for the team, setting a number of records with Minnesota.
