History of the Green Bay Packers
Where did Green Bay Packers get their name and why are they called it?

1. Don Hutson – Wide Receiver
Don Hutson was signed to both the Green Bay Packers and a team in New York in 1935. The NFL office decided to place Hutson with the Packers, and the rest was history. From 1935 until 1945, Hutson was the team’s undisputed star wide receiver, winning the NFL MVP award twice during his career. He was named to the NFL’s 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, the NFL 1930s All-Decade Team, the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and the NFL Professional Football Hall of Fame.

2. Bart Starr – Quarterback
Despite an awful draft pick in the 17th round of the 1956 NFL Draft, Starr went on to be a star quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. He played with the team during his entire professional career, which began in 1956, ended in 1971, began again in 1975 and ended again in 1983. During his two tenures with the team, Starr won five NFL Championship games. He also won the first and second Super Bowls in NFL history. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection, a two-time Second-Team All-Pro selection, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, two-time NFL MVP and part of the 1960s All Decade Team. After his career ended, Starr was named to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and his number, 15, was retired by the Packers.

3. Brett Favre – Quarterback
Brett Favre was drafted in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. The team couldn’t hold onto him for long though, and he soon signed with the Green Bay Packers in 1992. It was here that Favre played the bulk of his career from 1992 until 2007. He has since played for the New York Jets in 2008 and the Minnesota Vikings (2009 and 2010 thus far). Favre started in every game with the Packers and was an eleven-time Pro Bowler. He was a three-time First-Team All-Pro selection, a three-time Second-Team All-Pro selection, three-time AP NFL MVP, five-time NFC Player of the Year and two-time NFC Champion. He led the Packers to two Super Bowl appearances, winning the XXXI game. He has been named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.

4. Jim Taylor – Fullback
Jim Taylor was drafted out of Louisiana State in the second round of the 1958 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played with the team from 1958 until 1966. He briefly signed with the New Orleans Saints in 1967, but retired from professional football one year later. Taylor was part of the Packers team that won three NFL Championships and one Super Bowl (I). He was a five-time Pro Bowler, six-time All-Pro selection, AP NFL MVP in 1962 and part of the NFL 1960s All-Decade Team. He was voted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

5. Reggie White – Defensive End
Reggie White originally played for the Memphis Showboats, a team that was part of the United Stated Football League. The league disbanded in 1985, and White was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles. He remained with the Eagles from 1985 until 1992, when he signed with the Green Bay Packers. His career highlights include being a thirteen-time Pro Bowl selection, a ten-time First-Team All-Pro selection, a three-time Second-Team All-Pro selection, a Super Bowl champion, a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the year, three-time UPI NFC Defensive Player of the Year, and Pro Bowl MVP. White was always part of the NFL 75th Anniversary Team, the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team, the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team, and the USFL All-Time Team. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and his number, 92, has been retired by both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.

Tailgating Rules
Those utilizing the Lambeau Field parking lot will be permitted only one parking space per vehicle and we ask that you limit the space used for tailgating to allow for vehicle and pedestrian traffic. No recreational (wood) fires allowed. Grill cooking with charcoal or L.P. gas is permitted (no wood as fuel). All grills must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult (18 years or older), and be fully extinguished before being left unattended. Separate containers are available in the lot for hot charcoals, recyclable items and trash.
Several stadium restrooms are accessible from the parking lot and are available to tailgaters from the time the parking lot opens (four hours prior to kickoff) until one hour prior to kickoff. These restrooms are located on the north, northwest and southwest sides of the stadium.
Items NOT allowed in the stadium
Weapons, bags, backpacks, coolers, umbrellas, duffel bags, large purses, fanny packs, obstructive banners and signs are all strictly prohibited, as are food & beverages, video cameras and still photo cameras with lenses over 12 inches. As a general rule, please leave all unnecessary items at home.
