1. What are the Golden Globe Awards?

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is responsible for hosting the Golden Globe Awards each year. The annual celebration was originally begun to acknowledge outstanding achievements in the worldwide entertainment industry. The awards are given to both full–length motion pictures as well as television shows. The first Golden Globe Awards show was hosted in 1944 at 20th Century Fox studios in Los Angeles, California.

Since 1961, the Golden Globe Awards have taken place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, located in Beverly Hills, California.

Before they settled into this permanent location, the show was hosted at the 20th Century Fox studios, the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
